If you have an artistic talent, whether or not you will be majoring in an art field, most schools will still allow you to submit an art portfolio, generally via Slideroom.
There is usually a fee, per school, to submit your portfolio.
You can generally submit photography, graphic design, digital art, voice, instrument, dance, etc.
Start working on your portfolio sooner than later. Some schools may ask for five pieces while others may ask for up to twenty pieces.
If possible, attend an in person or online portfolio review to receive feedback on your portfolio.
There are several scholarships available from outside sources (see scholarship and financial aid blog) as well as the school directly.
You’re so welcome. Hopefully your daughter can repurpose some of the artwork from her AP portfolio for her college portfolio. Best wishes to her on her journey!
Thank you for this! Our daughter is a sophomore and extremely talented. She's taking an AP art class next year that will help her build her portfolio for college :)
