*What kind of computer should I take?
Check with your department as some recommend different computers/operating systems based on programs that will run on the computers.
*Do I need a printer?
Some schools offer multiple printers in different dorms, class buildings, etc. Some also give a print credit to students each semester or year. My daughter has only needed to print a handful of pages and used the school printers to do so.
*Have you ever flown using the Ikea Frakta bags
Yes! My daughter has several times. We usually double bag them and use them for a checked bag. They have been pretty sturdy so far and hold up well. She generally uses the suitcase but coming home during breaks used the bags to bring back items that she isn't using in college and to take back birthday and Christmas gifts.
*How long do you need for dorm move in?
My child’s school gave us a two hour time window. With the pandemic going on some schools have different policies than normal so check with the school. Between my child, her dad, and myself we were able to get everything done in two hours. We had everything organized in bags so we knew exactly where everything would go. Anything that needed to be built was already built before move in. . All Sterilite three drawer containers had items inside of them ready to go and just wrapped with clear packaging wrap. Once we got into the room we just needed to clean, make the bed, And then put everything else up where it belongs which was a swift process since we organized everything prior to move-in.
*Do I need a dolly or rolling carts to move in?
Again, this is something you will need to check with the school about. Also keep in mind if you will have access to an elevator when moving. My child’s school made move in seamless. We pulled up to the curb and the school hired movers to unload everything for us into rolling bins and they took everything upstairs to her room while we parkEd the car. Once we got into the room everything was sitting on the floor waiting for us to put up. I do realize that all schools are not like this so again check to see what their policies and procedures are. Just remember whatever you move in will need to be moved back out.
