What to bring to college (Checklist included)

My list is fairly long as stated in the About Me section I'm a planner. I tried to send a little of everything to college with my child. If she hasn't used it her friends have. She's the person they go to if they need something as they know she will have it.

Make sure to check with your school for regulation as there are so many restrictions at my child's school (ex, no headboards, no outside furniture, no wall tapestries, must be a Microfridge from an approved vendor if using a microwave and fridge, etc...)

LINKS for some of the items that were purchased: - Sheet Set

- Mattress Topper (at the time of posting this is $100 but when I purchased last year it was around $50 so watch for a sale)

- Fridge/Freezer Combo (check with your school as sometimes they only allow one per room and if you have a roomate you will need to coordinate.

- Microwave (check with your school as some require a Microfidge rental or purchase through an approved vendor if you plan to bring a microwave)

- Small Suitcase/Duffel Bag

- Fan (Yes, we are a fan of the Wuzoo fan that you've probably heard about. I suggest purchasing from Costco when it is in stock. In store prices seem to be a little cheaper than the online price. YES, you can purchase online if you don't have a membership but you have to pay a fee of an additional couple of dollars. It is currently out of stock online at Costco - at the time of this post - so the link isn't valid but keep checking back as the price is normally around $35-$45.

- Rug

- Trunk (used to store off season clothes)

- Lamp

- Rocketbook Notebook with pens

- Ikea Frakta bags or similar (great for moving and organization and folds for easy storage)

- Safe with Lock and Key (some schools will provide) or a fireproof bag for documents

-Security Device (such as a Birdie or any safety device that is allowed by the school)

- Cart (used to house her record player, radio, tea station, etc...)

- 3 tier bedside cart and topper

- suitcase or duffel bag for weekend trips

- Dorm Insurance (usually your homeowner's policy will cover this but you can purchase outside insurance for a reasonable price and a low deductible vs filing a claim on your homeowners insurance with a higher deductible. We pay under $200 a year with a $50 deductible. This normally covers theft, fire, flood or damage due to negligence.
